The two year old filly, who had won first time out just six days earlier, maintained her unbeaten record with a 1 ¼ length victory in this competitive Listed event. Held up in midfield behind a slow early pace, she showed an impressive turn of foot to take the lead inside the final furlong of this seven furlong contest, running on strongly all the way to the line.
Charlie Hills, representing his father Barry, commented: “She is tough and they didn’t go much of a gallop which didn’t help and she has done well to win. She has won twice in a week and we will give her a break now and bring her back for something like the Rockfel Stakes (Group II at Newmarket on 18th October)”.
Bay Tree’s Listed success added to first season sire Daylami’s highly promising start at stud, which also includes Birthday Suit’s two wins and Group II Cherry Hinton Stakes third place, as well as the impressive first time out victories of Grey Swallow and Thajja.
