Powering to a two and a half length victory, Intercontinental was emulating her Green Desert three partssister Heat Haze who won the same race last year. She is also the full sister to multiple Group I winner and champion filly Banks Hill, as well as Group winning and Group I placed colts Dansili and Cacique.
Kahyasi’s reputation as a broodmare sire has been cemented in 2004 by further Stakes winners such as Windy Britain, Danelissima and Generals’ Dynasty. His popularity in the sales ring was highlighted when the sales topping Danehill colt foal out of the Kahyasi mare Zarawa (the same successful cross as champion siblings Banks Hill, Intercontinental and Dansili) made 510,000 Guineas at Tattersalls last Friday.
