SIYOUNI's two-year-old daughter, Zarigana, confirmed her potential by remaining unbeaten in the Gr.3 Prix d’Aumale at ParisLongchamp on Thursday. The granddaughter of the unbeaten champion Zarkava will attempt to follow in her footsteps in the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac in October. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, another SIYOUNI filly showed an impressive turn of foot to secure her first Group success. Godolphin’s homebred, Beautiful Love, won the Gr.3 Jockey Club Oaks Invitational Stakes, becoming SIYOUNI’s 81st Stakes winner on Saturday.
SIYOUNI’s stablemate ZARAK also had reason to celebrate, as his daughter Village Voice recorded her third Stakes victory with an impressive four-length win in the Listed Prix des Tourelles at Saint-Cloud on Friday. She carries the colours of Mrs Cooper and is trained by Jessica Harrington.
SEA THE STARS had a banner weekend across Europe with three Group 2 winners and two Group 1-placed fillies. Sweet William kicked things off with a win in the Gr.2 Doncaster Cup, finishing ahead of Trueshan. It marked his second Group success this year, with the Normandie Stud homebred consistently placing in the top three throughout the season.
In Ireland on Sunday, Hanalia charged from the back of the field to claim her first Group success in the Gr.2 Blandford Stakes. The filly, closely related to dual Derby winner Harzand (also by SEA THE STARS), had earlier won the Listed Naas Oaks Trial. Previous winners of this race for the Aga Khan silks have included champions Tarnawa and Eziyra, the dam of this year’s Oaks winner, Ezeliya.
In France, Sosie followed up his Group 1 victory in the Grand Prix de Paris with another win in the Gr.2 Prix Niel at ParisLongchamp, finishing ahead of the Prix du Jockey Club winner. The three-year-old son of SEA THE STARS, who placed third in the Chantilly Classic—his first attempt at Stakes level—now stands as one of the favourites for the Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
On the graduates’ front, Dilawar secured his second Listed race under the silks of his new owner, Victorious Racing. The consistent gelding had placed four times at Listed level this year. A son of Group 1 winner Dolniya, Dilawar was sold at the 2022 Arqana Arc Sale. This year, ZARIR will head to the Saint-Cloud sale, along with three stable companions, following his close second-place finish in the Gr.2 Prix Foy at ParisLongchamp on Sunday.
