Trio of Arc winners crown stellar Siyouni book

The leading French sire to cover Alpinista, Enable and Solemia in 2025.

A stellar book of mares for SIYOUNI this season includes three winners of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Since 2012, six fillies have won Europe’s most prestigious Group 1 race, and among them Alpinista, Enable and Solemia will be visiting France’s leading sire at Haras de Bonneval.

Owned and bred by Kirsten Rausing, Alpinista makes the journey from Lanwades to visit SIYOUNI after producing her first foal earlier this year. This tough and consistent mare, winner of six Group 1 races in total, won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in 2022 ahead of Champion Three-Year-Old VADENI and 2021 winner Torquator Tasso. The resulting foal would be bred on the same SIYOUNI/Frankel cross as 2025 Classic hopeful ZARIGANA.

Enable (by Nathaniel) needs little introduction, as Juddmonte’s most prolific Group 1 winner. Among her 11 top-level victories are not one but two Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe wins in 2017 and 2018, and she came very close to a historic third victory when second in 2019. SIYOUNI has had a lot of success when bred to granddaughters of Sadler’s Wells, producing Classic winners Paddington, Sottsass and St Mark’s Basilica.

Wertheimer homebred Solemia denied Japanese favourite Orfevre to land the Arc in 2012. Since retiring to stud, she has produced six winners and already enjoyed success with another Aga Khan stallion in SEA THE STARS via 2024 Group performer Internaute. Solemia, like Enable, is a granddaughter of Sadler’s Wells.

SIYOUNI will cover a book of 130 mares this season, including 20 from the Aga Khan Studs’ home broodmare band.
