The Aga Khan Studs separate from André Fabre

Monday 21 January 2008

The Aga Khan Studs has decided to withdraw their horses in training with André Fabre.

Approximately 30 horses will be redistributed amongst the Aga Khan's existing trainers: Alain de Royer Dupré, Jean-Claude Rouget and Guy Henrot. The Aga Khan Studs will also send about 10 horses each to Richard Gibson and Mikel Delzangles. This will be the first time that either of these trainers will train Aga Khan owned horses.

The horses left André Fabre's stables on Monday morning. The Aga Khan Stud's French manager Georges Rimaud stated that an "operational disagreement" had caused the separation. The Aga Khan's Studs have about 175 horses in training in France and were the leading owners in France in 2007.
