YOUMZAIN will attempt to follow in the footsteps of his Arc-winning sire when he lines up on Sunday in the world’s richest turf contest. The son of Sinndar has already demonstrated his talent at this highest level, finishing second in the 2007 edition of the race, and lifting the Gr 1 Grand Prix de Saint Cloud in June.
Sinndar’s yearlings have proved popular at public auction this year and his only representative at the recent Goffs Million sale in Ireland raised a bid of €280,000. The filly, a half-sister to EP Taylor second and Classic-placed ALASHA, was knocked down to Eamon Reilly of BBA Ireland.
At ARQANA’s Deauville market in August, Sinndar’s products also met with success in the ring. Two of his protégés changed hands for €160,000 each, and the stallion registered an average of €75,000 for his nine yearlings sold.
Sinndar will be represented by a single yearling at the forthcoming Tattersalls sale at Newmarket. Lot 1519 is a half-brother to two winners and he is out of a half-sister to Oaks third and Gr 3 winner PICTAVIA.
