The Aga Khan Studs have unveiled their matings to their resident stallions and will once again send them a selection of top class broodmares.
Sea The Stars, whose first yearlings have averaged more than €300,000, will cover yet another quality book of mares this year, which includes Group 1 winner Darjina as well as the dams of Group 1 winners Shareta, Bayrir, Sarafina, Siyouni and Siyouma.
DALAKHANI, who was the sire of 14 more Stakes horses in 2012, will be covering sisters to Darjina and to Jockey Club third Baraan, himself by DALAKHANI. His book of mares will also include Group 1 winners Zalaiyka and Daryaba, who has already produced the Hong Kong Vase winner Daryakana.
The dam of ill fated Prix de Diane winner Valyra will go back to AZAMOUR, as will Vaderana, a daughter of Group 1 winner Vadawina, and Darinska, the dam of multiple Group 1 winner, Darjina.
Resident at Haras de Bonneval, SINNDAR was responsible for yet another Group 1 winner in Shareta in 2012. This year, he is set to cover, Visinova, a sister to four Group 1 performers including Varenar; Artanava, sister to Group 1 winner Montmartre and Roxelana, herself a sister to juvenile Group 1 winner Rosanara by SINNDAR.
His young stable mate Siyouni has proved very popular for his first two seasons at stud. His book of mares will include Fraloga, a Group 1 placed sister to Alpine Rose, a sister to Kalanisi, a daughter of Champion racemare Timarida, as well as Kerasha, dam of three Stakes horses including 2012 stakes winner Kerasona, and a close relative to Group 1 winners Ebadiyla, Enzeli and Edabiya.
