The Aga Khan Studs delegation for the forthcoming Goffs Breeding Stock sale boasts Group Ones galore, whether they be winners themselves, dams thereof or close relations.
Particular highlights of the 27-strong consignment include KASTORIA, heroine of the Gr 1 Irish St Leger among her five Stakes successes and runner-up in the Gr 1 Hong Kong Vase. The daughter of Selkirk has produced one winner to date and is in foal to Henrythenavigator. From the family of dual Derby winner and highly-effective multi-purpose sire Kahyasi, KASTORIA is out of Group scorer Kassana (Shernazar).
Listed winner Behkiyra (Entrepreneur) represents a magnificent Aga Khan pedigree as she is a daughter of Prix de Diane victrix Behera (Mill Reef). Already dam of two winners, Behkiyra is expecting a foal by Sea The Stars who is enjoying excellent results from his first juveniles on the track. The mare is a half-sister to Group 2 scorer Behkara who has produced Gr 1 Grand Prix de Paris winner Behkabad.
Also in foal to Gilltown Stud sire Sea The Stars is Shawara (Barathea) is non-other than the dam of Gr 1 Yorkshire Oaks and Prix Vermeille SHARETA (Sinndar). This family is fully proven in the breeding sheds as Shawara’s half-sister, champion filly Shawanda (Sinndar) has also given birth to a Classic winner, St Leger scorer Encke.
The half-sister to dual Derby hero and Classic sire Sinndar, winning mare Simkana (Kalanisi) should attract plenty of interest. This young broodmare is expecting her second progeny, by Aga Khan sire Azamour.
Dam of Stakes placed Zabarajad (Invincible Spirit), Zalaiyma is out of Gr 1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches winner Zalaiyka (Royal Academy). The black-type mare is believed in foal to Rock of Gibraltar.
Of the fillies out of training, placed three-year-old Ebaniya is a daughter of Sinndar and champion filly Ebadiyla (Sadler’s Wells), half-sister to Gr 1 winners Enzeli and Estimate. Ebaniya’s own half-siblings include Gr 1 hurdler Ebaziyan (Daylami) and Gr 1 third Eyshal (Green Desert) and the extremely promising Ebanoran (Oasis Dream) who won impressively for his juvenile debut recently in Ireland.
Full details of these mares and other black-type members of the consignment for 22 and 23 November will be available soon in the Sales section.
