Aga Khan colt Hasik tops day three at Goffs

Thursday 13 February 2003

Four year old winning colt Hasik topped day three of the Goffs Mixed February Sale, eventually being knocked down to Martin Cullinane for €70,000 having been the object of some fierce bidding.

Formerly trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Hasik broke his maiden at Windsor by three lengths, and was placed twice from three runs. By Ashkalani, out of the Stakes winning mare Hasainiya, Hasik is closely related to the Italian Derby winner Houmayoun, as well as some useful winners over jumps including Hazarfen.

Explaining that the colt would be trained by Michael Cunningham, Cullinane commented: “I thought he was a nice horse with a nice temperament, and the fact that he is already a winner is a plus.”
