A pair of SINNDAR’s daughters have displayed their talents recently, as Kaldera lifted her first Listed contest in Baden-Baden and Valdiyana picked up her first black-type with a second place in the Listed Prix des Tourelles.
Kaldera has barely put a foot wrong this season, racking up a hat-trick over ten furlongs in France in the spring, including a pair of Parisian handicaps. She then went on to finish fourth in the Gr. 3 Hamburger Stuten-Preis, German Oaks trial. On her first attempt over the staying distance of a mile and three-quarters, the three-year-old filly beat her elders by a length in the Listed Steherpreis during the prestigious Grosse Woche of Baden-Baden.
Trained by Paul Harley in Germany, Kaldera is the first offspring of Listed victrix Konigstochter (Dai Jin).
Haras de Bonneval stallion SINNDAR is also sire of the progressive and versatile Valdiyana. Carrying the colours of H.H. the Aga Khan, this filly has won two of her four races, a ten furlong maiden on the all-weather of Deauville and a fifteen furlong conditions contest at Maisons-Laffitte. Stepping up in category on Tuesday, the Alain de Royer Dupré-trained Valdiyana took second place in the Listed Prix de Tourelles at Chantilly. She holds entries in the Gr. 2 Prix Chaudenay and Prix de Royallieu during Arc weekend.
Valdiyana is out of placed mare Vadasouna (Monsun), from the family of Prix de Diane winner Valyra.
