Champion SEA THE STARS has achieved great success with his first crop of three-year-olds and counts three Group 1 winners, including ten-length German Derby winner Sea The Moon and Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum’s Oaks and King George winner Taghrooda. With 10.6% black-type winners to runners, he stands second only to Galileo as leading European sire in this category, and comes also second by winners to runners with 53.2%. He enjoyed equal success in the sales ring, with his yearlings averaging €338,000 and selling up to €1,1 million. DALAKHANI was represented by eight Stakes winners, headed by Integral, who won two Group 1s over a mile at Newmarket for her owner and breeder Cheveley Park Stud. A consistent sire of winners, DALAKHANI has produced 50% of three-year-old winners to runners and his yearlings have averaged more than €90,000.

Another young stallion of the Aga Khan Studs is currently leading the charts, amongst the first crop sires this time. SIYOUNI is the sire of four Stakes winners from his first crop, including Group 1 placed Ervedya. He is the leading European first crop sire in order of Stakes winners to runners (10.8%), and he comes second to Showcasing with 45.9% of winners to runners. His yearlings have sold for up to €200,000 and his two-year-olds for up to €300,000 this year.
He will be joined at Haras de Bonneval by MAKFI, who will stand in partnership with Qatar Bloodsock before being replaced by Charm Spirit in 2016. The impeccably bred son of Dubawi was a winner of the 2,000 Guineas and Prix Jacque Le Marois, and he has sired a total of 18 winners this year, making him one of the leading first crop sires with 40% of winners to runners. MAKFI himself was a World Champion Three-Year-Old and his progeny are indicating the best is yet to come.
The Aga Khan Studs’ third Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe scorer SINNDAR is a reliable all-round performer who has recorded 50% winners to runners throughout his career and was represented by six new Stakes performers this year. The Classic sire of four Group 1 winners, he has now made a name as a broodmare sire with three victories at the top level. SINNDAR is also a confirmed sire of jumpers, with two sons successful in Group 1 contests.
