Grey Swallow voted Horse to follow in 2004

Tuesday 6 January 2004

The unbeaten two year old Daylami colt Grey Swallow has been voted by many racing journalists as the horse to follow in 2004, according to an article in the Racing Post.

In a special tipping feature for 2004, experts were asked to identify their horses to follow for the next flat season. The majority selected Grey Swallow including Tony Morris, Tony O’Hehir, Tom Segal, Allan Sweetman and Paul Curtis.

Tony Morris reasoned: “Winner of his only two starts as a juvenile by ten lengths and eight lengths, the latter at Group III level, this well bred colt looks destined for the top. He should stay ten furlongs.”

Daylami had three further Stakes horses from his first crop of two year olds in 2003, including Listed winner Bay Tree, the Group I placed Palace Talk and the Group II placed Birthday Suit.
