The Aga Khan Studs’ Haras de Bonneval welcomes the arrival of three stallions that will stand alongside leading sire SIYOUNI for the 2016 season. DALAKHANI, MAKFI and CHARM SPIRIT have all returned to France after Southern Hemisphere covering seasons in Australia or New Zealand.
DALAKHANI traveled to Normandy after his latest stint at Cornerstone Stud in Australia. A consistent sire of high class racehorses, he has produced the winners of 13 Group 1 contests and four Classic scorers. The Arc hero returns to the country of his greatest racing triumphs and he will stand for a fee of €15,000.
MAKFI returns to the Haras de Bonneval for a second year. A Classic sire with his first crop due to Poule d’Essai des Poulains and Prix de la Forêt winner Make Believe, MAKFI has also made his mark in New Zealand with Champion Two-Year-Old Marky Mark. The young sire made the best possible start to the New Year with another Group success in the Southern Hemisphere, as his three-year-old daughter Sofia Rosa lifted the Gr 2 Royal Stakes by a length and a half. Dubawi’s son MAKFI stands for €20,000 in 2016.
Fellow Qatar Bloodstock sire, CHARM SPIRIT, will stand for the first time in France, after a debut season at Tweenhills Stud in England. The first foals of this son of Invincible Spirit are eagerly awaited during the forthcoming weeks and months. The winner of three consecutive Group 1s over a mile is offered at a fee of €27,500.
The leading second-crop stallion of 2015, SIYOUNI remains at the Haras de Bonneval. The sire of the Classic and triple Group 1 winner Ervedya was also responsible for a further 12 Stakes performers in 2015. He will be represented in 2016 by Trixia, unbeaten as a juvenile last season. SIYOUNI’s stands for €30,000 in 2016.
