The prolific season of the Aga Khan Studs’ stallion SEA THE STARS, continued at the weekend with victory in the Gr.2 Lancashire Oaks for ENDLESS TIME. The progressive filly had not raced for over eight months and she put up a brave performance to secure the Group 2 contest, her second Stakes success after an impressive win in the Listed Bluebell Stakes at Naas last October. Trained by Charlie Appleby for Godolphin, ENDLESS TIME cost 115,000 Guineas when sold as a foal and then 180,000 Guineas as a yearling at Tattersalls. The filly now counts six wins in eight outings, and her next target could well be the Gr. 1 Yorkshire Oaks in August.
SEA THE STARS has enjoyed an excellent season so far with his progeny, headed by dual Derby hero Harzand who became the sire’s fourth Group 1 scorer after Oaks winner Taghrooda, German Derby scorer Sea The Moon, and Vazira, winner of the Gr.1 Prix Saint-Alary. ENDLESS TIME became the 17th global Stakes performer of 2016 for her sire, who is responsible for 29 Stakes winners and 51 Stakes performers to date during his stud career.
The six-time Group 1 winner SEA THE STARS currently stands second in the European sires’ standings by earnings, behind his half-brother Galileo, and boasts an enviable ratio of 52% winners to runners in Europe in 2016.
