The Aga Khan Studs exciting draft of four winning colts and geldings at the forthcoming Goffs Champions Sale is highlighted by HARIPOUR, half-brother to dual Derby hero Harzand.
A five and a half-length winner at Navan in June over a mile and five furlongs, HARIPOUR (Shamardal) has also been placed twice in Ireland. Still an entire, the three-year-old boasts an excellent pedigree, being out of Group 3 victrix Hazariya (Xaar), herself a half-sister to Group 3 winner and Irish and Yorkshire Oaks third Hazarista. Hazariya is the dam of 2016 Epsom and Irish Derby scorer Harzand, who now stands as a stallion alongside his sire Sea The Stars at Gilltown Stud. Her progeny also includes three more black-type performers; Harasiya, winner of the Gr. 3 Silver Flash Stakes and Group 1 third, Listed victrix Hazarafa, and Group placed Haziyna.
Dual winner ZABALAN has recently proved his well-being with success over an extended ten furlongs at Roscommon. The four-year-old colt is lightly raced but has finished in the first three on five of his six outings. ZABALAN is a son of Dutch Art and winning Dalakhani mare Zanoubiya who has already produced Group 3 winner Zannda.
Another dual winner, TIRMIZI, scored by an astonishing 17 lengths at Listowel in June. This four-year-old son of Sea The Stars is out of winner and Listed placed Timabiyra, and is a grandson of Champion mare Timarida, a triple Group 1 winner.
Closely related to dual Derby and Arc winner Sinndar, SIKANDARABAD (Dr Fong) counts one victory and three places. He is a son of winning mare Sindiyma (Kalanisi), the full sister to Listed victrix Sindirana, while his second dam Sinndiyna is a half-sister to Champion racehorse Sinndar.
