Classic sires Siyouni and Sea The Stars, as well as exciting new recruit Zarak will be among stallions on show to visitors at forthcoming open days at Gilltown Stud and Haras de Bonneval.
In Ireland, Gilltown Stud will welcome invited guests on Friday 12th January and will open its gates to all visitors from 10am to 3.30pm on Saturday 13th January, in conjunction with the popular Irish Stallion Trail.
The stud is home to champion racehorse and proven sire Sea The Stars, father to 2017 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe runner-up Cloth Of Stars, to his three-quarter brother Born To Sea, and Classic-winning son Harzand. Dual Derby hero Harzand enters his second season at stud in 2018 and his first foals are eagerly awaited in the coming weeks.
In France, the Haras de Bonneval will be open on Saturday 20th January, as part of Normandy’s Route des Etalons, from 9.30am until 4pm. The blue-blooded Zarak, son of Dubawi and the Champion Zarkava and winner of the Gr. 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, will be a major attraction to visitors as he embarks upon his breeding career.
The public will also enjoy the opportunity to view leading French stallion Siyouni, sire of 2018 Classic hope Laurens, in addition to Dariyan, a Group 1 winning son of Shamardal, whose first foals will be born shortly, and triple Group 1 winning miler Charm Spirit who returns to the Haras de Bonneval.
Lunch and refreshments will be served to visitors on each open day.
