Fillies and mares from the close families of Zarkava, HARZAND and Azamour feature among a blue-blooded Aga Khan Studs consignment at the Goffs Breeding Stock Sale on 21st November. In recent years a host of top class performers have been produced by mares sold by the Aga Khan Studs and these are highlighted by Classic winners Almanzor, Capri, Encke and Flag Of Honour. This draft therefore represents a valuable opportunity for breeders to invest in some of the most famous Aga Khan bloodlines, including winners and proven broodmares.
Among relatives of the exceptional Zarkava, winning mare ZANOUBIYA (lot 943) has already enjoyed success in the paddocks as dam of Group winner Zannda. This daughter of Dalakhani, who is none other than the broodmare sire of Pinatubo, is offered in foal to the popular Awtaad.
The half-sister to dual Derby hero and young sire HARZAND, HAZIYNA (Halling, lot 938), is a Group 3 runner-up and dam of two winners. This family is also represented by lot 937 HARDIYNA, a daughter of SEA THE STARS and Group 3 winner Harasiya, sold in foal for the first time to Rock Of Gibraltar, and lot 983 HAZAKIYRA (Camelot), a winner this year.
The beautifully-bred ASKERIA (lot 936) is a Sadler’s Wells half-sister to Champion Azamour and to Azmiyna, the dam of five-time Group 1 winner in Australia The Autumn Sun. Already dam of two winners, she is offered in foal to young Haras de Bonneval stallion ZARAK. Other proven broodmares include KADAYNA (Dalakhani, lot 939), dam of Listed winner Kadra and out of a half-sister to Kahyasi, as well as lot 940 MOURANIYA (Azamour) a half-sister to Group 1 winner Mourayan and Melbourne Cup third Mourilyan, and dam of three winners to date.
MOUNEERA (Dawn Approach, lot 988) is also a sibling to Mourayan and Mourilyan and features among the twelve three-year-old fillies. They include several daughters of black-type winners, such as lot 982 ALEZIA, a daughter of Dansili and dual Group 3 winner ALANZA, lot 986 KATIYWA, by Ifraaj and Group 2 winner and Oaks third Katiyra, and SHERANDA (SIYOUNI, lot 990), daughter of Group 3 winner Shareen and half-sister to black-type scorers Shamreen and Shahroze. Out of Listed scorer Tanoura, lot 992 TALIYNA (Dawn Approach) is also a half-sister to two Group winners, Taniyar and Tanaza. Finally, lot 991, SONAIYLA (Dark Angel) has recorded a new victory since the catalogue was published.
