The Aga Khan Studs have reserved Europe’s leading sires to meet their best broodmares in 2021, with Gilltown and Bonneval residents SEA THE STARS, SIYOUNI and ZARAK strongly represented as well as Frankel, Dubawi, Kingman, etc.
Dam of three Stakes winners including Group 1 scorer and sire ZARAK, champion racehorse ZARKAVA is expecting a foal by SIYOUNI this season, and she is due to be covered by Lope De Vega. ZARKAVA’s daughters, the Group 1 placed Zarkamiya and Listed victrix Zaykava, will be covered by SIYOUNI and Dubawi respectively, while another daughter, Zerkaza, dam of Stakes placed Zeyrek, is due to give birth to a foal by Dariyan this spring.
Ballylinch stallion Lope De Vega has also been selected for three-time Group 1 winner Ervedya, the daughter of SIYOUNI who has recently produced a filly by Kitten’s Joy, and for Tarana, who delivered a colt by Frankel who is a half-brother to 2020 champion mare TARNAWA.
Ervedya’s dam, Elva, is set to meet ZARAK whose first juveniles will be seen on the track this season, and the young Haras de Bonneval sire is also booked for Daltama, dam of Group 1 winner Dolniya, and Group 1 winner and Arc third Shareta, who has foaled a colt by Le Havre.
Group 1 Prix Saint-Alary winner SIYARAFINA has just given birth to her first offspring, a filly by Medaglia d’Oro, and she will be covered by Gilltown Stud sire SEA THE STARS, while her dam Siyenica, a sister to SIYOUNI, has borne a filly by SEA THE STARS and has been booked to Frankel. Juddmonte Farms’ Frankel also has appointments with the Group 1 placed Veda, expecting to SIYOUNI, and Group 1 winner Dolniya.
Another sister to SIYOUNI, Sayana, is due to foal by Kingman and will visit Too Darn Hot, who hails from the family of Darshaan. The leading French sire will meet juvenile Group 2 winner Raydara, dam of a colt by SEA THE STARS, and the Group 1 placed EZIYRA who has recently given birth to a filly by Dubawi. From the same maternal line as EZIYRA, Ebiyza is already dam of last season’s Group 1 placed Ebaiyra, and of a colt born this spring by SEA THE STARS. She will be covered by Kingman.
DARYAKANA, dam of young stallion Dariyan (Shamardal), is expecting a foal by Lope De Vega and will be covered by Classic sire SEA THE STARS.
Famed in Australia as dam of the top-class racehorse and exciting young sire The Autumn Sun, AZMIYNA has produced a filly by SIYOUNI and will visit Dubawi, while Dubawi’s son Ghaiyyath, champion racehorse of 2020, will count the Group 1 placed half-sister to Harzand, Harasiya, as part of his first book of mares.
