Parnac won the Listed Grosser Preis der Mehl-Mühlens-Stiftung on Sunday (24th October), keeping on strongly to win the 7f contest at Hannover to become the latest Stakes winner for Zarak.
The filly, owned and bred by Jean-Pierre Dubois, remains unbeaten, having made a winning debut at the beginning of October. She is the second first crop two-year-old Stakes winner for her sire in just seven days, following Lizaid's victory in the Gr.3 Preis der Winterkönigin.
Zarak also posted another Gr.1 performer over the weekend after Purplepay’s fast-finishing third in the Criterium International at Saint-Cloud.
He is currently the leading first-crop sire in Europe by percentage of winners to runners (minimum 15 runners).
Sire of 12 winners to date, including two Stakes winners and two Gr.1 performers, Zarak’s success with his first runners has translated to the sales ring, where last week at the Arqana October Yearling Sale a filly from his second crop, a half-sister to Gr.1 performer Graignes consigned by Haras de Castillon, sold for €95,000 to YOHEA.
