ZARAK enjoyed two new Stakes winners in just two days over the weekend, with both Crown Princesse and Village Voice flying the flag for his second crop of three-year-olds.
Crown Princesse demonstrated a great turn of foot to come from last to first in the Gr.3 Prix Cléopâtre at Saint-Cloud on Friday afternoon. The filly was bred by Haras De Saint Julien and Mme Regula Vannod, and although she does not currently hold Classic entries, she confirmed she has Group 1 potential. Her dam Lovemedo (Zafeen) was Stakes-placed, and is from the family of SIYOUNI’s three-time Group 1 winning son Sottsass.
The following day, Village Voice showed a great attitude to land the Listed Salsabil Stakes at Navan. Third in the Gr.3 Eyrefield Stakes as a juvenile despite being hampered, the filly ran on well to win her 2023 debut and could head next to the Gr.2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot. Bred by Malih Al Basti, she was a graduate of the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale, and now races in the colours of Mrs P K Cooper. Her grandam Nasheej was a Group 2 winner and Classic-placed, and counts the legendary Seattle Slew among her famous relatives.
ZARAK is now the sire of 11 Stakes winners (over 10% of his total runners), seven at Group level, as well as four Group 1 performers, from his first two crops.
