The 4 year old son of Kahaysi out of the winning Danehill mare SHAMANARA was bred by His Highness The Aga Khan. SHAMANARA's dam was the Listed winning Doyoun mare SHAMANIYA out of Shamsana, which makes her a half sister to Shamawna, dam of Classic winner Shawanda. Last year's winner, Dabiroun, was also bred by the Aga Khan.
A private purchase by top agent Charlie Gordon-Watson in 2005, now trained by Charlie Egerton, Shamayoun ran with the pace and picked up just after halfway to challenge, leaving Artist's Muse 2.5 lengths back and another 2.5 lengths to third placed Patman du Charmil.
Congratulations to the winning connections, and above all to Shamayoun's lucky owner, Ronald Brimacombe.
