New breeding venture with Arrowfield Stud

HH The Aga Khan’s Studs and Arrowfield Stud today announced the commencement of a breeding venture

whereby a number of young mares owned by HH the Aga Khan will be sent to Arrowfield Stud to be bred to Arrowfield Stud stallions. The produce from these matings will be offered for sale at Australian select yearling sales.

Six mares have been selected to initiate the program in 2008 and are currently in quarantine in Australia. The mares include Zarakiysha, an unraced half-sister to Zarkava, the Champion European 2YO filly in 2007 and unbeaten triple Group 1 winner whose victories include the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac as a 2yo, Group 1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and the Group 1 Prix de Diane and Vadsalina, a stakes winning 2yo and a half sister to Group winners Vadawina (1st Group 1 Prix Saint-Alary ) and Vadapolina (1st Group 3 Prix Cleopatre, 1st Group 3 Prix de Psyche).

The Aga Khan Studs has been one of the leading owner/breeder operations in Europe for the last 50 years while Arrowfield is home to champion sires Redoute’s Choice, Flying Spur, Hussonet and Danzero.
