A total of 27 females from the Aga Khan Studs will go through Arqana’s Deauville ring from 5th to 7th December.
Many of the sixteen fillies out of training have proved their worth on the racecourse and are also closely related to winners at the highest level.
These include recent winner Lot 104 Artana, a half-sister to Gr 1 Grand Prix de Paris winner MONTMARTRE, lot 125 Claveria (Nayef), an unraced half-sister to Gr 1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains scorer and successful sire Clodovil, while winning Red Ransom filly Vayla (lot 67) is out of a full sister to Prix de Diane heroine VEREVA.
The Lagardère family of recent Gr I Prix de la Foret scorer VARENAR, a half-brother to stakes winners Visindar (Gr 2), Visorama (Gr 3) and Visionary (LR), is represented twice at the sale by winning fillies Veleza (lot 70) by Dalakhani and Vidiyna (lot 71) by Danehill Dancer.
Another high-class Lagardère family is that of lot 150 Firoza (King’s Best). The unraced filly is out of a full sister to Gr I winners Alpine Rose and Fragrant Mix and stakes winners Fracassant (Gr 3), Farfala (LR) and Fascinating Mix (LR).
Among the eleven in-foal mares, dual-winner lot 325 Zanora (Kalanisi) is a half-sister to Poule d’Essai des Pouliches winner Zalaiyka and is in foal to Halling, and lot 433 Kasakiya (Zafonic) is a half-sister to the dam of Gr 1 Irish St Leger scorer Kastoria, and a close relative to Kahyasi. She has been covered by Derby winner Authorized.
Lot 294, Gr 3 Prix de Lutèce victrix Street Shaana (Darshaan) is out of a Sadler’s Wells mare and has already given birth to one winner. She is carrying a foal by Marju. Other covering sires for the AK draft of broodmares include Azamour, Sinndar and Peintre Célèbre.
