As Zaynar and Alaivan prepare to line up among the favourites at Cheltenham, the Aga Khan Studs are offering a new opportunity to invest in some promising individuals with four well-bred three-year-olds available for private sale via the website.
The three geldings are all unraced and they feature Dabari, a Rock of Gibraltar half-brother to the versatile Dabiroun who was placed at Gr 3 level on the flat and a Listed winner over hurdles at the Cheltenham Festival. He is also a half-brother to Listed performer Dabirana. Dabari’s dam was twice runner up in Stakes company and she is the half-sister to a Listed winner. His third dam produced champion racehorse and leading sire Darshaan and Gr 1 winning racemare and broodmare Darara.
Kayhasi gelding Bashari is a half-brother to three winners including Barizan, second in a Cheltenham Gr 2 contest over hurdles. His pedigree is rich in black-type under both codes, as his granddam is Gr 1 winner and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe runner-up Behera, dam of the top class hurdler Behrajan as well as Pattern winners Bayrika, Behkiyra and Behkara. The latter’s progeny include Gr 2 second Beheshtam and the promising Behkabad, a Gr 3 winner last season as a juvenile.
Adjarad, by Tiger Hill is a grandson of Gr 3 victrix Adaiyka whose four winning offspring include dual Gr 3 scorer Adilabad. Like Dabari and Bashari, Adjarad is currently in pre-training at Gilltown Stud.
The sole colt of the group is Malakhan, a son of Monsun and Gr 3 winner Miliana. Malakhan raced twice at two and is ready to run in 2010, for trainer Guy Henrot. The half-brother to winning filly Mildoura, his Group and Listed placed second dam gave birth to five winners including the prolific Mirjan who lifted a Grade 3 hurdle among his eleven successes under both codes.
Full details and pedigrees of the quartet are available on www.agakhanstuds.com/Sales.
