Velvet Moon, herself the winner of the Group II Lowther Stakes, is the dam of Moon Ballad who won this year’s Group II Dante Stakes before finishing third in the Epsom Derby and second in the Champion Stakes.
Daylami’s first yearlings sold particularly well this Autumn, for an average profit of 85,700 Euros, or 75% return on his stud fee, thus making him the most profitable freshman sire standing at £7000 and above. (Dr Statz, Pacemaker”.11/2002)
