The Aga Khan Studs consignments at forthcoming Horses in Training sales in Ireland and France present, as ever, exciting opportunities for investors. Superb pedigrees and proven results feature among the entries which have potential to star either on the flat or over jumps, and therefore follow in the footsteps of RASHAAN, winner of the Gr.1 Turf Writers Cup Hurdle, and DEVAMANI, winner of the Gr.2 Knickerbocker Stakes, the most recent Aga Khan Studs graduates to shine for new connections.
Among 20 Aga Khan colts and geldings catalogued in the Goffs Horses In Training Sale that will take place onlin on 5th November, lot 577 ZARZYNI represents a leading attraction. The son of Siyouni was a winner as a juvenile and has been placed in Group company in Ireland at both two and three years old.
The beautifully-bred EBENDI (lot 576, Le Havre) hails from the exceptional family of Ebadiyla, Edabiya, Enzeli and Estimate and he is a half-brother to four black-type performers on the flat and over jumps. The three-year-old gelding has won and recently showed his well-being with a second place over a mile and a half at the Curragh. Lot 575 Bashiyr (Invincible Spirit) also presents an appealing profile as this dual winner is a consistent performer, out of Group 3 winner Baliyana (Dalakhani).
The Aga Khan Studs will be represented at Arqana’s Autumn Sale on 16th November by 11 colts and geldings, and these include some top families. The draft is headed by lot 394 VARDANI, a half-brother to champion stayer Vazirabad and to Listed winner Visoriyna. The three-year-old colt by Charm Spirit has won two of his three outings to date.
Lot 346 ASHIM is another dual winner and this three-year-old colt is by Stormy Atlantic and out of Listed winner and Group 1 Prix Vermeille fourth Ashiyla. He has been successful over seven furlongs and most recently over a mile at Chantilly in September. Lot 393 IRSHAD (Raven’s Pass) is a classy performer who won last season at two years old and has placed fourth at Group and Listed level in 2020. SAGHIR (lot 348, Nathaniel) also presents a promising profile. A winner and placed at Clairefontaine this summer, the gelding is a son of Group 1 winner Sagawara, from the family of Sagamix.
