SEA THE STARS has enjoyed plenty of early-season success in the UAE, with his latest winner Lost Eden becoming his 87th lifetime Stakes winner after landing the Listed Jebel Ali Stakes.
It was a second course and distance win for the lightly raced, Doug Watson-trained five-year-old this year. A €200,000 Goffs yearling bred by Mogeely Stud and owned by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, Lost Eden hails from the family of dual Gr.1 winner Old Persian and champion Miesque.
Earlier this month, four-year-old Manabo – already a Group 2 winner in France for owner/breeders Godolphin – maintained his unbeaten record with an easy victory in the Gr.3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy at Meydan, breaking the track record in the process. Winning jockey William Buick said: "He's a beautiful big horse and he's unbeaten. He is obviously very good and the team had him in great shape for his stepping-stone run. I think he can go up in trip or down. That was a lovely performance."
The same team also recently won the Listed Zabeel Turf with six-year-old Star Safari, who over the weekend was just a short head away from a second victory in the Gr.3 Dubai Millennium Stakes.
