The annual Goffs Breeding Stock Sale is soon to take place in Ireland on November 23rd and 24th. The Aga Khan Studs will be presenting their annual draft of mares and fillies, which usually attracts buyers from all horizons; this year should be no exception.
To name but a few, the likes of Siyouma, dual Gr.1 winner of the Sun Chariot Stakes and the E. P. Taylor Stakes in 2012, and Zarinia, the dam of Champion South African filly Igugu, were respectively presented at Arqana and Goffs. Other recent broodmare prospects that were sold at public auction include Alpine Rose and Tashelka, the first being the dam of the €1.2 Million yearling sold at this year’s Arqana August Sales, the latter being the dam of the promising Tasaday in France, her first foal.
This year, the strongly represented team of 16 fillies and mares is headed by SINIYYA, a full sister to European Champion and multiple Gr.1 sire Sinndar. Out of a stakes winning mare, Siniyya is in foal to dual Classic winning stallion Lope De Vega whose first crop are foals.
Another well bred mare is the daughter of Giant’s Causeway DALIYA, who is in foal to first season sire Canford Cliffs. She is a half-sister to multiple Gr.1 winner Daliapour and has already produced two winners from three runners. Her own dam is a stakes winner and a Gr.1 placed half-sister to Darshaan and the blue-hen mare Darara.
Also for sale is the stakes winning daughter of Halling DARKARA, who is a half-sister to the dam of multiple Gr.1 winning Champion Darjina. Having already produced six fillies, this family will keep growing and she is in foal to Dalakhani.
Selling with an important update on her page is ZANARA, a daughter of the excellent broodmare sire Kahyasi. She has produced the very promising two year old colt Zand (Zamindar) who recently won his maiden at Leopardstown by an easy 3 ¾ lengths, on only his second start. Zanara is closely related to Zarkava and has already produced a stakes winner. She is in foal to New Approach, sire of this year’s National Stakes winner from his first crop.
Amongst the fillies presented this year is three year old RUBINA, a winner who placed fourth in the Gr. 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes and Gr.2 Debutante Stakes at two. This daughter of Invincible Spirit out of a stakes winning mare is a close relative to this year’s Prix de l’Opéra winner Ridasiyna.
