Eight progeny of young sire SIYOUNI are certain to attract a good deal of interest at Arqana’s forthcoming breeze-up sale on 9th and 10th May.
The precocious SIYOUNI, hero of the Gr 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère during his own racing career which was launched with a debut win in the month of May, has proved to be a great success so far at stud. One of only two sons of Pivotal at stud in France, and out of a dam by Danehill, SIYOUNI is a nephew of Slickly and a half-brother to dual Gr 1 victrix Siyouma. He has covered a full book of mares for each of four breeding seasons at the Haras de Bonneval in Normandy.
The eight juveniles set to breeze at Saint Cloud in May include a number of black-type offspring or siblings.
Lot 38 is a half-brother to Stefer, who was successful in a Gr 3 at two years old, and a grandson of Gr 3 winner Flaming Torch.
Out of a four-time winner, Lady Sybil lot 41 is a half-sister to five winners including German Listed scorer and placed Another World.
Lot 43 Super Nothing hails from a strong maternal line, with his granddam Lexa winner of five Stakes contests and great granddam Leandra a top-class performer who was runner-up in the Gr 1 Prix Vermeille.
Lot 50 is a grandson of Gr 3 victrix Name of Love, dam of a pair of Pattern winners, while the dam of lot 59 Svoul is a half-sister to six Stakes performers, and has already produced six winners herself.
From the family of Grand Prix de Deauville scorer and sire Irish Wells, the two half-siblings of lot 83 are both dual winners. Lot 89 boasts a classy German pedigree, featuring a host of black-type winners including German 1000 Guineas scorer La Blue.
The first offspring of Panna Cotta, Tiramisu (lot 122) has quality international origins as his dam is a half-sister to Pattern performers in five different countries, including an American Group 2 winner.
The Arqana breeze-up catalogue also features progeny of Aga Khan Studs sires SEA THE STARS, SINNDAR and Redoute’s Choice.
Lot 34, by Gilltown Stud’s SEA THE STARS, is out of an Aga Khan-bred mare Alizaya, from the family of Alamshar and Alandi, while lot 68, by the Bonneval’s SINNDAR, is equally well-bred, being a full-brother to Listed scorer Fairly Fair and a half-brother to Gr 2 Del Mar Derby winner and Gr 1 Hollywood Derby second Fairly Ransom.
The son of Redoute’s Choice (lot 92) has a fascinating pedigree as he is a half-brother to Group winners in Australia and South Africa, whose third dam lifted the Prix Robert Papin and Abbaye de Longchamp.
