Exciting first season sire SIYOUNI maintained his momentum as leading European freshman stallion as his unbeaten daughter Ervedya lifted the Gr. 3 Prix de Cabourg at Deauville. The filly becomes the third Stakes performer for her sire who has already made the news thanks to Mocklershill , winner of France’s renowned Pattern contest for untried juveniles, the Listed Prix Yacowlef, and Lehaim , placed in both the Gr. 3 Prix du Bois and Gr. 2 Prix Robert Papin.
H.H. the Aga Khan’s Ervedya, who is out of Group-placed Elva (King’s Best) has progressed faultlessly throughout her career to date, winning on her debut at Tarbes before an easy success at Maisons-Laffitte and this decisive victory against the colts in a strong edition of the Prix de Cabourg. The precocious filly could now aim to climb in grade again with a possible target being the Gr.1 Prix Morny on 24th August.
The Bonneval Stud inmate SIYOUNI confirmed his placing at the top of the European first-season sires standings with an impressive 43% winners to runners ratio and boasts an impressive Stakes winners to runners ratio of 8.7%.
A son of Pivotal hailing from the close maternal family of proven sire Slickly, SIYOUNI won the Gr. 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère as a juvenile and was multiple Gr. 1 placed at three years old.
On the same Deauville card, DALAKHANI’s recent Gr. 1 Falmouth Stakes heroine Integral took third place in the Gr. 1 Prix Rothschild, while the Gilltown Stud stallion’s SILK SARI stayed on well to secure victory in the Listed Chalice Stakes at Newbury. This success represents the first Pattern win for the Luca Cumani-trained filly, who finished third in the Gr. 3 Pinnacle Stakes at Haydock earlier in the season.
DALAKHANI, who recently travelled to Cornertsone Stud in Australia for a second consecutive southern hemisphere season, has been enjoying a strong run of Stakes form lately. He has been represented by a seventh Group 1 in Integral and SILK SARI became the 37th Stakes winner by the son of Darshaan.
