2017 b. g. War Command - Kaladena (Daylami)
Kalapour, who was bred by the Aga Khan Studs, is a son of War Command out of Kaladena, a sister to dual Group 1 winner Kalanisi.
He began his racing career in Ireland, securing his maiden victory at Down Royal in June 2021. In 2022, Kalapour was sold privately, marking a new chapter in his career under Australian connections.
Upon transitioning to Australian racing, Kalapour's performance reached new heights. In 2023, he clinched the Lexus Archer Stakes at Flemington, earning a coveted spot in the Melbourne Cup. The following year, he achieved his most significant victory by winning the Gr.1 Tancred Stakes at Rosehill in March 2024. This success not only underscored his adaptability and resilience but also highlighted the enduring quality of the Aga Khan Studs' breeding program, which consistently produces horses capable of excelling on the global stage.
