2021 b. g. Frankel - Candara (Barathea)
Trained by Francis-Henri Graffard
A son of Frankel and Candara, Candelari is a brother to three Stakes winners including Group 1 placed Candarliya.
This tall horse took time to reach his full potential, and although his debut was delayed, it proved to be a successful one. Candelari rewarded his connections for their patience, winning easily by eight lengths on his first start at Chantilly. He repeated the feat on the same racecourse in February 2025 before defeating Group 1 winner Double Major a month later. This promising stayer appears to have a bright future ahead.
Descending from Lagardère lines as a son of Group-placed Calayana (Sinndar), Calandagan is from the family of Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains winner Clodovil.
